FAQ, Bite Pics, Links
1. What should I do If I encounter a snake on my property?
Stay calm. If you encounter a snake on your property and are not familiar with the different kinds of snake species, it's in your best interest to call us for help, DO NOT APPROACH THE SNAKE. DO NOT HARM OR ATTEMPT TO KILL THE SNAKE. You should always give the snake plenty of distance, If the snake is cornered or trapped it's going to feel threatened and might behave aggressively. Remember the snake is not on your property by choice, it's ended up there because of habitat loss and does not want human encounters just as much as you don't want snake encounters. If possible try to get a good description of the snake (color, size, pattern, rattle etc). If the snake is in an area where it can hide (garage, bushes, storage) attempt to see where it is going.

2. How do I contact an OC Snake Removal agent and when are you available?
We are available 24/7 365 days a year. You can Contact us by phone, 949.933.1868 or email, ocsnakeremoval@yahoo.com

3. How do I know if the snake is venomous and or dangerous?
The only venomous snakes native to California are Rattlesnakes. You can easily determine them by the rattle at the end of their tails. Juvenile Rattlesnakes or Rattlesnakes that have lost their rattle many not have the ability to rattle so you can't specifically rely on a rattle for determining whether or not the snake is venomous. Also try to notice if the head is Broad and triangular. Rattlesnakes have a very distinct head shape. If you're located in Orange County, Ca. there is only four native Rattlesnake to the county (located on the "native snakes to oc" page). This is not to say that you will not encounter other types of Rattlesnakes ,venomous, and non venomous snakes. We have many issues with snake keepers releasing non native snakes into the wild. Keep in mind that the majority of snakes are harmless to humans. Some kinds of snakes are docile and rarely bite. Some will hiss, strike, puff up, musk or even play dead in order to defend themselves against predators. Also have to keep in mind that non venomous snakes can inflict a painful and infectious bite. It's always best if encountering a snake to refer back to FAQ number 1.

4. I keep seeing snakes on and around my property, what do I do?
If you don't want these snakes on your property our recommendation is to invest in our snake proof fencing and or have regular inspections done during the months that snakes are most active.

5. I have children and pets, how can I keep them safe from snake encounters?
If your in an area near snakes, coyotes, or other wild life activity or you have a pool on your property we highly recommend snake proof fencing. Although our fencing systems are particularly focused on detouring snakes from entering your property they also detour Coyotes, Rodents, and other wildlife from entering your dwelling areas.

6. Do you offer snake repellents or deterrents?
No, at this time we are not offering snake repellents.

7. Do you kill or harm the snake in anyway?
No. Snakes are very important to us and even more important to our ecosystem. Removed snakes that are native to the area will be re-released in a safe area where they will not have contact with humans. Snakes that are not native will be placed up for adoption or donated to an educational facility.
